Mission and History
We work with your family to address your concerns about your child’s motor, sensory, feeding/swallowing and communication skills and to enhance your child’s functional independence, social and emotional well-being and integration into the community.
Founded in 1985, Pathways Center in Glenview, Illinois, has been a leader in innovation and excellence, providing best-practice, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to infants, children, and young adults.
When your child comes to Pathways Center you become part of our community, one with a rich history of progress and best practices in pediatric therapy.
Our History
- Founded in April of 1985, Pathways Center began as a best practice Neuro-Developmental treatment (NDT) pediatric clinic providing family centered therapy and post graduate training of therapists.
- Reaching out to other professionals and sharing the knowledge of NDT, Pathways began offering continuing education in 1986.
- Our first Family Fest in 1991 started a tradition of community that has been carried out at Pathways. This event became our annual Walkathon in 2005.
- Our Family Newsletter had its first issue in 1989, and continues to provide parents with important information every month.
- Ahead of its time, Pathways Center launched its first website in 1999.
- Changing locations to The Glen in April of 2003 allowed Pathways to improve its facilities and add more state-of-the-art equipment.
- Because of our commitment to answering questions about NDT, the Department for Clinical Research was established in 2005.
- Pathways Center incorporated the Adeli Suit and began the first intensive program in the summer of 2005.
- The Elizabeth Morse Play Lab opened in 2008 with a generous donation from the Elizabeth Morse Charitable Trust, adding the most current technology available to Pathways Center.
- In April of 2010 Pathways Center will celebrate its 25th Anniversary of providing pediatric therapy to children in our community. We thank you for your support.
